Project Description
This report is part of the Transition to Electromobility in Brazilian Cities Project and addresses the project to finance electric buses in the city of Fortaleza. The document’s six chapters provide context on the city, discuss alternative business models, outline the pilot project considering operational, legal, economic-financial and social aspects, explore financing options, offer recommendations for implementation and monitoring, and detail the strategy financing for the chosen solution. The report aims to support the implementation of electric buses and the transition to electromobility in the city’s public transport.
The Transition to Electromobility in Brazilian Cities Project, financed by the Clean Technology Fund, the CTF, of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), is the result of partnerships: the World Bank, the Ministry of Regional Development (MDR) and the Brazilian Institute of Development and Sustainability (IABS).
